What is a Standard Check?

A standard check verifies that the instrument and method are still giving the expected response before or during pharmaceutical sample analysis.

Standard Check % = (Avg A × Wt B × 100) ÷ (Avg B × Wt A)
💡

Real-world QC Example

Standard A confirms system precision through repeated injections. Standard B is compared against Standard A to confirm recovery remains inside the selected limit.

Example: 100.94% within 98.0% - 102.0% = Pass

💡 Common mistakes before calculating

Include: Valid Standard A injections, valid Standard B injections, correct standard weights, and approved method limits.

Include Peak area or absorbance responses from the same method run and same preparation basis.
Do Not Include Blank injections, failed injections, trial injections, or responses from a different method condition.

Warning: If Standard Check % or %RSD fails, investigate before reporting sample results.
