Dilution Factor Calculator

Dilution Factor Formula
Standard (per step): DF = Aliquot Volume ÷ Final Volume
Sample (per step): DF = Final Volume ÷ Aliquot Volume
Total DF (multi-step) = DF₁ × DF₂ × DF₃ × ...

Dilution Factor = Total Sample DF × Total Standard DF
Standard is expressed as a concentration fraction (Aliquot ÷ Final) and Sample as a dilution multiplier (Final ÷ Aliquot) — multiplying the two gives the final Dilution Factor.
